Not everyone is ready for the fishy flavor most seafood carries. We understand that there are picky eaters out there who need something a bit lighter.
That's where the red snapper comes in. This fish is super versatile when it comes to preparation and has a flavor that is appealing to most consumers.
It's not as strong as some other types of seafood and can be described as nutty and slightly sweet. That makes it easy to combine with multiple types of recipes, and that's exactly what we'll showcase today.
You can find a simple red snapper recipe and throw it in tacos, or focus on something a bit more complicated, like making roasted snapper.
Don't worry; we'll show you all the best ways to make it. Or, if you don't feel like spending any time in the kitchen, come to Bayshore Club, and enjoy the best seafood in Miami and the area.

Ingredients
- 1 lb Red snapper filet
- 2 tbsp Extra virgin olive oil
- 1/4 tsp Herbs de Provence
- 1/4 tsp Garlic powder
- One lemon (cut in half)
- 3/4 cup White wine
- 2-4 Fresh rosemary sprigs
- Sea salt
- Fresh cracked black pepper
Instructions
Step 1
Start by preheating the oven to roast at 400 degrees F.
Step 2
Find a baking pan and cover it with a sheet of aluminum foil.
Step 3
Use salt and black pepper to season the fish filets. Then, lay the fish skin side down into the pan.
Step 4
Drizzle the prepared extra virgin olive oil over the fish filets. Then, squeeze the first half of the lemon over the snapper. Save the other half for later.
Step 5
It's time to add the spices. Cover the fish with garlic powder, Herbs de Provence, and fresh rosemary.
Step 6
Let the fish marinate for a few minutes while we wait for the oven to reach the needed temperature.
Step 7
Place the pan in the oven, keeping the fish filets uncovered. The roasting will take about 10 minutes.
Step 8
Once the time has passed, open the oven and slowly pour white wine over the fish.
Then, close the oven and give the snapper another five minutes of roasting. You'll know it's done once the meat is opaque and it's easily flaked with a fork.
Step 9
Take the pan out of the oven, and squeeze the leftover half of the lemon on top of the fish.
Step 10
There are two ways to serve this red snapper recipe. To go the traditional route, you should serve it in the dish it was prepared in. However, you can also transfer the filets into a warm serving dish, pour the juices from the pan on top, and serve the fish that way.
Whichever option you choose, make sure the fish is served immediately.

- 3 tbsp Minced shallot
- 3 tbsp Chopped parsley
- 3 tbsp Minced celery
- 1/4 cup Minced dill pickles
- 1 tbsp Prepared horseradish
- 1 tbsp Minced garlic
- 1 tbsp Cider vinegar
- 1 tbsp Lemon juice

- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp Cajun seasoning (or Creole)
Snapper
- 2 lbs Skinless snapper filets
- Two eggs (slightly beaten)
- 1/4 cup Yellow mustard (or Dijon)
- 3 tbsp Heavy cream (or half and half)
- 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning (or Creole)
- One sleeve of saltines crackers
- Peanut oil (for frying)
Instructions
Step 1
The first step in this red snapper recipe is making the remoulade sauce. All you need to do is mix all the ingredients in a bowl, and the process is finished. However, if you wish to let the flavors mellow, prepare the sauce the night before.
Step 2
It's time to cut the fish into bite-sized pieces. Feel free to improvise with this step and cut the snapper based on your preference.
Salt the fish lightly.
Step 3
In one bowl, mix the eggs, heavy cream, mustard, and Creole seasoning.
Step 4
Find a frying pan deep enough to hold about a half-inch of peanut oil up the sides. Heat the oil to about 350 degrees F.
Step 5
You can start egg-washing the fish pieces while you wait for the oil to heat. Once the oil reaches the needed temperature, you can begin putting the fish in the pan.
But first, dredge the snapper in the mashed saltines. You can use a paper bag or a separate bowl to do this.
Step 6
Keep frying the fish until the pieces are golden brown on both sides. Usually, it doesn't take more than 3 minutes per side.
Take the pieces out and let them drain on a paper towel before serving. Finally, dip the snapper in remoulade and enjoy what you've prepared.
