Best Beverage Recipes to Try This Fall

Are you sick of having the same drink every time you want to take a sip? Most people get into a rut at some point in their life, and you shouldn't be surprised to be one.

None of us look forward to getting out of our comfort zone, so having the same order or making the same drink is the easiest solution to avoid change.

The end of October brings colder weather and sweaters, and since everything around us is changing, maybe our favorite drink should, too. If the time has come to try something new, we'll give you a few options.

We've prepared a list of the best cocktails for the upcoming season, and we explained how to make them. Keep reading if you want to see all the fall cocktails you need to try this year.

We'll also mention a few Thanksgiving drinks you can make for the family dinner. And, for more ideas, check out the cocktail menu at Bayshore Club.

Mulled Wine

Though most would consider Mulled Wine a Christmas cocktail, we believe it's perfect for all cold days. So, feel free to include it on your Thanksgiving drinks list.

This drink has quite a history considering Ancient Romans used to drink spiced wines. Nowadays, it's popular worldwide with a number of variations. In different parts of the world, you can try mulled wine with pepper, ginger, cardamom, or herbs.

Apart from tasting amazing, mulled wine is one of the easiest fall cocktails to make. Check out the ingredients list and start preparing.

Ingredients

  • 750ml Red wine
  • Six Whole cloves
  • One orange (in slices)
  • Three cinnamon sticks
  • 3 Star anise
  • 1/2 cup Brandy
  • 1/4 cup Honey

Instructions

No worries, most fall cocktails don't have complicated instructions. Follow the simple steps, and you'll have the perfect result every time.

Step 1

Combine all of the ingredients in a saucepan. Make sure the pan is large enough to fit everything with room left for stirring.

Step 2

Put the stove to medium heat and bring the wine to a simmer. Once you see the bubbles, reduce to low heat and give it another 10 minutes.

Step 3

Pour the wine into glasses and serve warm and garnished. More orange slices and cinnamon sticks are the perfect decoration.

Nutty Irishman

This time, let's go for something that looks as great as it tastes. The Nutty Irishman may sound goofy, but once you try it, you'll see why it's among the best cocktails for this time of the year.

It has everything you need for a perfect rainy afternoon – a bit of booze, some more sweetness, and a whole lot of nuttiness.

Don't be shocked when you see the ingredients list – hazelnut liqueur is easy to find. Most likely, the closest liquor store offers Frangelico, which suits this cocktail perfectly.

Ingredients

Whipped Cream

  • 1 cup Whipped cream
  • 1/4 cup Irish cream (Baileys or similar)
  • 1 tbsp Powdered sugar

Cocktail

  • 1 1/2 oz Irish cream (Baileys or similar)
  • 1 1/2 Frangelico (or other hazelnut liqueur)
  • 1/2 tbsp Hazelnuts (crushed)

Instructions

Making the best cocktails sometimes requires extra effort. With this one, it's making the whipped cream ourselves. Still, as long as you follow the instructions, you won't have any trouble with the preparation.

Step 1

Firstly, you'll need a mixer. Then, add the whipped cream and powdered sugar into its bowl, and start working. Once you see stiff peaks forming, you can lower the speed and start pouring the Irish cream. Give it some more time to mix, then transfer the whipped cream into a piping bag.

Step 2

Mixing the cocktail is step 2. Add the liquor into a shaker with ice. Then give it all a good shake to make everything frosty.

Strain the drink into a coup, pipe the whipped cream on top, and garnish the Nutty Irishman with pieces of hazelnut.

Hot Toddy

If you don't feel like going to the liquor store but want a drink to warm you up, a Hot Toddy is the answer. Besides being super simple to make, most households have all the ingredients already in the pantry. So, no, you won't have to take off your pajamas to make it. It's the perfect cocktail to enjoy cuddled up in a blanket binging your favorite TV show.

No, the ingredients list doesn't really sell this cocktail. BUT. Don't count Hot Toddy out until you try it. This mixture is more than what it seems before the first sip.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 oz Bourbon
  • 1/3 cup Water
  • 2 tsp Lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp Honey
  • Cinnamon stick (optional)
  • Lemon slices (optional)

Instructions

Step 1

Get a small saucepan with water and set it on the stove. Once it simmers, proceed to step 2.

Step 2

Combine the remaining ingredients in a mug. Pour the hot water on top and stir the mix.

Step 3

The only thing left to do is make the ensemble a bit more presentable. So, garnish the drink with a cinnamon stick and a lemon slice, and it will be ready to serve.

A Hot Toddy is one of the most straightforward Thanksgiving drinks you can make to switch things up for your family instead of serving plain bourbon.

Tiramisu White Russian

If you're interested in a cross between cocktail and dessert, try our Tiramisu White Russian recipe. We put an Italian twist to a classic, and it's a perfect match for the upcoming cold days.

And there are ways to avoid making a mess. Make whipped cream in a mason jar to make your life a bit easier while keeping the flavor of the drink.

Ingredients

  • 4 oz Dark rum
  • 4 oz Kahlua
  • 4 oz Heavy cream
  • Ice
  • 2 tsp Granulated sugar
  • One ladyfinger cookie

Instructions

Of course, you can make whipped cream using a large bowl and a mixer. If you have time, feel free to go that route. If not, follow our steps.

Step 1

Add cream and sugar into a mason jar or any other pint-sized glass with a seal. Shake the ingredients for about 3 minutes, and you'll have cream whipped as if you used a mixer.

Step 2

Get two rocks glasses and fill them with ice. Pour two ounces of Rum and Kahlua into both, and stir to combine the liquor.

Step 3

The finishing touches require pouring the whipped cream into the glasses and garnishing the drink. So firstly, divide the whipped cream, and set it into the glasses using a spoon. Even out the edges, then dust cocoa powder on top.

Finish the presentation with a ladyfinger cookie.
